Pietà is a c.1537-1540 oil painting by Rosso Fiorentino, originally painted on panel and later transferred to canvas. Now in the Louvre in Paris, it is the only securely-identified original painting by the artist known to have been produced for a courtier of Francis I of France.

Rosso Fiorentino. One of the founders of Mannerism, a work of Rosso Fiorentino 's can easily be recognized by the brash tenets of this style that he helped develop. The lighting is harsh and the figures tend to be angular and elongated. Perspective is often from an unusual angle and the colors are brilliant though impetuous.
